Examination of a girl in her early teens revealed multiple superficial optic disc drusen and comprehensive visual field defects bilaterally.1 The optic disc drusen of the left eye were mainly situated in the upper quadrants of the optic disc. Visual field was mainly spared centrally and in the upper temporal quadrant of the right eye and centrally and in the lower temporal quadrant of the left eye. The patient had binocular transitory visual obscurations as a child. At follow-up examination more than 50 years later, only minimal changes in the number and size of optic disc drusen were found when compared with the initial examination (Figure). The visual fields decreased concentrically by 30% based on the V-4e isopter obtained with a Goldmann perimeter.
